The surface was\u00a0transformed\u00a0from natural grass to artificial grass, to become\u00a0the third synthetic<strong><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/strong>turf playing pitch in Uganda, secured through special financial support from FIFA.<\/p>\n<p>After the Confederation of African Football (CAF), advised the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), that the management at St. Mary\u2019s Stadium must improve its surface, to be allowed to host continental games at the facility.\u00a0A decision was then taken by Vipers Sports Club management to further improve the playing surface at the 25,000 seater facility.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ccgrasseurope.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/CCGrass-artificial-grass-field-in-Ugandan.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Vipers SC\u00a0is a football club in Wakiso town, and plays at the top level of Ugandan professional football &#8211; the Ugandan Super League.<\/p>\n<p>Vipers SC represented Uganda in the CAF 2018\/19 Champions League, with St. Mary\u2019s Stadium hosting their home games as well as other domestic league matches.<\/p>\n<p>For Vipers SC, it was important that the pitch achieved the FIFA Quality standard, to enable the stadium to host major matches.\u00a0This is why CCGrass\u2019s Libra 60 system was chosen.
