The Hive

The Hive is a large footballing Hub in North London. The property hosts the main stadium for Barnet FC amongst other notable clubs including Barnet Bees, Tottenham Ladies and a number of football academies.  In 2019 CCGrass and PST Sport completed the resurfacing of a full-size FIFA Quality Pro training pitch that is used primarily by the Football Academy and in the evenings for commercial rentals.

Technology

The club decided to use our diamond shaped 17,000 dtex  Superb 45 yarn. Superb 45 synthetic turf is a real heavy weight (1600g per sqm), premier football surface, offering superior play characteristics when installed onto a performance shock pad, to provide the ultimate football performance. The resilience of the Superb fibre allows it to “stand up”, to give a controlled ball roll, as close to a high-quality natural turf pitch as possible. The surface allows players to twist, turn and stop naturally, taking football on artificial grass to a new level. A preformed performance pad was laid beneath the Superb 45 carpet, before it was filled with silica sand and SBR rubber. This solution delivered FIFA Quality Pro performance, tested and certified upon completion by Sports Labs.
