A few weeks post completion, due to the current pandemic and social distancing rules, TSV Fortuna’s first team were finally able to use their new CCGrass pitch for the first time.

The Billigheim club chose CCGrass BiPlex AU 40 product, which is a two-fibre product, that has passed both the German DIN 18035 standard, as well as FIFA Quality Pro test. The installation carried out by Raumflora, a local specialist sports pitch construction company, includes a recyclable Alveo shock pad and natural cork infill from specialist producer, Amorim.

During the installation phase, CCGrass Sales Manager, Onno Brenninkmeijer, made regular pitch visits to ensure the client was happy and the installation went smoothly.

Onno commented, “To us it’s particularly important to show our customers that we don’t just sell the carpet but are also there for them throughout the whole process, as well as after the installation.”

The club received donations of €86.206 towards the expected total build costs, which are close to €600,000.  This shows how committed everyone was to ensuring the artificial grass pitch completed.

The project was scheduled for completion by the end of 2019 but was postponed, first because of very wet weather and then due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As sport returns to normal and matches start again, we hope to see TSV Fortuna’s CCGrass pitch getting plenty more use.
