In the last few days different governments have made announcements that will encourage some sports to be played again, albeit at professional level. This is great news for spectators missing their sporting entertainment, but for most active sport’s enthusiasts, there will still be quite a wait until some sports can be played below this level.

For real non-contact, individual sports such as golf and tennis, it is easy to introduce safety criteria to allow activities to take place safely. But, for contact sports such as football, rugby and hockey, this is much harder. The impact will be the continued closure of synthetic turf facilities, for a little longer.

Behind the scenes work continues. Bryn Lee, CCGrass European Office CEO explains: “New build and replacement pitch work has restarted in some countries, which is great for our industry. Companies have had time to put in place extra checks to ensure the safety of the site workforce, and these are being rigorously enforced. We have just seen the completion of our first field in Germany and have installations proceeding in other parts of Europe”.

Bryn continues: “As we are in full control of the production process, from yarn extrusion to finishing and preparation for shipping, CCGrass is best placed to help our customers get back to work quickly, by ensuring our deliveries are uninterrupted”.

CCGrass turf manufacturing facilities are in full production with the safety of all staff being monitored through regular personnel testing, the wearing of masks at work and observance of social distancing directives.

Meantime, the CCGrass European Office staff continue to work from the safety of home offices, but hope to start visiting sites and projects very soon.
